Help a girl out! :)

Ok friends...I am working on my play-list today for my wedding..both ceremony & reception songs. I think I have it all figured out except for one thing....OUR FIRST DANCE song! Now, let me just say this..we have something special. And no, it's not the typical "evolution of dance" stuff that everyone does. I was captain of the dance team in college so dancing is one of my true passions so I had to think of something unique and I think it's going to be fabulous! But I still wanted that "sweet first dance" moment with Greg. So we are going to do a normal first dance before everything happens but I'm so stuck as to what song!

I'm kinda leaning towards this: "Your Love is Extravagant" by Casting Crowns.

It means A LOT to us and it's so beautiful! What do ya'll think??

Ok..we haven't officially decided, so ANY suggestions would be helpful. I would love for you to even share what your first-dance song was to...thanks sweet friends! :)

A post for Greg...

{Greg mentioned that he misses reading my writing while he's away, but lately, I've just been in a slump. So in honor of my hard-working man...this post is a love letter to him}

Hi Baby! :) Well, I hope you're happy mister..this post is for YOU! You really must be something special if I write a blog post for you. ;) First off, (yes, I have to say it everytime I talk to you & I include blogging for you as talking to you) I MISS YOU! Goodness gracious, I went to pick up our plane tickets for Jamaica today and I cried the whole way home because I miss you so much! haha. I would give anything for you to be back home with me again and running all of our errands together. I don't think we cherished those moments enough. However, our sweet travel agent, Pam, did ask how you were doing and how Oklahoma is treating you! :) My life is just not the same without you in it every single day...one would think by now (5 months) that I would be somewhat used to you being gone, but I'm not. Not even close. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a bad dream and you really will be coming to pick me up for date night on Fridays...then reality sets in and my Skype starts ringing. ;)

But in happier news...today marks exactly ONE MONTH! Can you believe that?!? One month until I will walk down the ailse and become your WIFE! That is such an awesome word to me! You have on clue how much I want to be a great loving and supportive wife for you. It's my #1 goal right now! I seriously hope you love everything I have done for our wedding while you have been away. I think it will be so much *fun* and be very personal. I've worked hard on it baby..and not because I want to impress everyone, but because I want it to be memorable for us! It is going to be the happiest day of our lives! :) I just cannot WAIT!

Know what else I cannot wait for?!? My VISIT to OK! Thank you sooo much for allowing me to come spend 4th of July with you! We are going to have so much fun..and it's going to be wonderful to spend some time together. Even if it is my first plane ride...I wish it were here tomorrow! I'm not very sure if you are gonna be able to get me back on that plane to NC... Then, guess what? The next time I see you will be at the REHEARSAL!! You got the invite, right? ;)

I know we haven't had much time to talk this week Greg, but know that I think of you constantly and pray for you! You are doing SO well in your training and I am SO proud of you for that!! I knew you would stand out from the crowd...you always have! It is such an honor and joy to get to hear about your experiences and stories...I love being your refuge! It is so awesome to be marrying my hero! Thank you, baby for your hard-work. You provide for me and for our country far more than we could ever ask of you...

I love you today..tomorrow..and for always! {and for certain in 30 DAYS!} I hope you are doing ok out in the field training baby...please eat your mashed potatoes, add the gravy. We can't afford a 3rd suit for the wedding ;) And pretttyyy, pretttyyyyy please ring my Skype # soon so I can make sure your hair is growing properly for the wedding ;) hahaha...

It's a sickness...

I've had a lot of people comment on my dress that I wore at my hat party bridal shower. Let me tell you girlfriends, that dress was a steal! Under $25! From where? Of course, my fav. store of all time...Forever 21! I purchased it in one of my trips to Charlotte and knew it would be perfect for the shower..then I started the hunt for the perfect pink hat to match. :)

The dress was a little big and low for my taste and for the event I was attending so I had to pair a cami underneath which I wasn't crazy about...but I still think the entire outfit came out ok?

After researching Forever 21's website to find the pic of the shower dress, I def. added a few things to my shopping cart! So hurry now and go check them out! Def. can't beat their prices! :)

Hat Party Bridal Shower! My FAV. day!

Saturday I had my second bridal shower..it was a hat party! :) Talk about girly! I sooo LOVED every minute of it! A lot of my girlfriends surprised me by coming and it was the BEST feeling! I, of course, invited everyone..but after college we all moved off in seperate directions and it's super crazy hard to get us all in one place at one time. I'm sure you all know how that is, but it meant the world to me that they all made it happen! We got some fabulous stuff that I'm just SO excited about!! THANK YOU to everyone who came and everyone who helped with the shower & for making my day so special! Oh, what I would give to be with all these ladies every day of my life...here are some pics of all the girly fun! :)

First Bridal Shower

As mentioned below, we had our very first bridal shower in May. Given so graciously by the church I've grown up in. The decor was so perfect and we got tons of amazing things! I've never seen so many gifts in my entire life! :) Def. will be needed as we begin to move in together for the first time! Yayyyyy! I should reintroduce myself...

hi..I'm Shannon...I just cheated on my blog with Greg :) We spent 4 WHOLE WEEKS together! Can you believe it?? To say the least..we had SO much fun being together again...everyday! All kinds of craziness happened with the Army and orders got switched {like always} butI put him on his flight to his BOLC II training on Saturday! We have already started looking for plane tickets for me to be able to spend 4th of July weekend with him! But then, after that....the next time I see him will be at the Rehearsal!! Can you believe that?? Wow...talk about stress!

Now, as to what I've been doing the past 4 weeks...let's have a quick update so you guys will know that I've honestly been busy and not just neglecting my blog! :)

See the posts below about the OCS Ball and Greg's Graduation...that was a FUN week! We got to come home together after his graduation and spent lots of time with our families since Greg hadn't seen anyone for 3 months! Every evening we also got together with different friends of ours that we have missed! It was awesome to be with my friends AND Greg at the same time. You have no clue how much I miss this...

As far as wedding stuff we accomplished...All my Bridesmaid Dresses are IN! We stopped by and picked up a few the other day. Another HUGE exciting moment...MY DRESS IS IN! I had my first dress fitting on May 30th and I go pick it up for good this Friday, June 12th! It.is.GORGEOUS. I love it more now than I did when I purchased it!

I just ordered all of the bridesmaid shoes....that was a major pain! You might remember the ones I had picked out from a previous post, but due to size issues and availability I had to put the girls in 3 different shoes..but all by the same designer. Here are the shoes...

Oh, and did I mention we booked our HONEYMOON?!?!? We didn't think we were even gonna get one because of, you guessed it, the Army! However, things played out perfectly and we immediately went to see a travel agent. Say hello to my beautiful destination for a solid week...

We will be staying at a Couples Resort in Jamaica!! All-Inclusive...pure luxury! I am so excited! Exactly what I need after having to plan this wedding by myself and be far away from my Fiance for 6 months! Take that Army!

We had our first wedding shower on May 17th! It was so much fun and we got lots of great things! My dad's church {he's a pastor} threw it for us and we were abundately blessed! I will create a seperate post for it..I have some really great pics from it! I am having my 2nd shower this coming Saturday..it is for Family & Friends! The decor is going to be fabulloouuusss and I just need to mention that there will be big hats involved! :)

Well, I'm off to run some errands and buy some wedding presents. Ya'll, I have a wedding or a bridal shower to attend EVERY weekend in June! Talk about wedding season! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend...please don't hate me for taking a much needed break from the blog world. I'm backkkkkk ;)
