Labor Day Happenings :)

This evening Greg and I are heading back home for the weekend! I am so excited! We are from this beautiful town nestled in the mountains of North Carolina...

Isn't it so pretty? I love, love, love where we're from! Such a fun, unique & diverse city! Hubs and I actually met in college and discovered we were from the same place (but attended different high schools). This makes it extra easy for trips to see family and friends!
My little hometown always has the craziest festival for Labor Day & it has always been a tradition since we were little that me and my girlfriends go to get a Snow Cone! I can't wait! Why yes, I'm a 24 year-old going on 12.

While we're in town for the long weekend I am going to pay a MUCH needed trip to my hair stylist! I feel like finding a good hairstylist every time we move with the Army is going to be such a task! I don't trust just anyone with my hair & nails...there's just something about it that scares me to death. And I've tried and tried to find another woman on post here in Virginia that has good hair to ask who her stylist is, but go figure...every single person I've seen has hair that makes me shudder! What's a girl to do?

I'm thinking that it's time for a change! I've had the same hair style since high school! I know, I know..I need to step out of my box a little! I'm leaning towards this hair cut...

It's pretty much what I have right now just WAY shorter and with more layers & volume. The worst that could happen is that I hate my hair short...but it'll grow back, right? Thoughts?

I hope everyone has a fabulous Labor Day weekend & enjoys some much deserved FUN!

Virginia Fun :)

Greg and I are having so much fun living here in Virginia for a short time! I LOVE the post we are at..and I am actually enjoying living on post too!

As mentioned in the post below we adventured to Busch Gardens on Friday to spend the day and had the most incredible time! We got in for free, taking advantage of the "Salute our Heroes" offer and I just thought it was the greatest thing all day! We got to see Elmo and all his friends which was a highlight of my day. My nephew Landon absolutely LOVES Sesame Street and I would have given anything for him to have been with us! The rides at Busch Gardens are so amazing..by far the best theme park I have ever been to! Here are a few pics:

On Saturday we woke up early and drove to Virginia Beach to spend the day! We spent about 4 hours just laying out and the both of us got so much sun!! It was fabulous! I didn't get many pics because I spent most of my time checking out the back of my eyelids, however, I did get this great photo of my hubby rocking my sun hat! haha..he's gonna die when he sees this!

And on our way home we saw this BEAUTIFUL sunset!

I love getting the opportunity to experience new parts of the country! Our days are jammed packed with meetings and such getting ready for our big move and then lots and lots of workouts..but hopefully sometime this week I will be able to show you guys where we're living! :)

Re-Cap It.

I spent the weekend here:

Oklahoma {aka: flattest land of all time}

With:

Gregory {aka: the hottest guy on the planet}

Doing this:

Watching Tim McGraw concert on a lawn on post {aka: holy crazy people, but still lots of fun}

And this:

Laying out at the lake on post {aka: getting cut from the glass-like sand particals and hurricane winds}

And that is all of the pics I got, folks! haha. One might say that I was rather wrapped up in the situation and the fact that I was actually WITH Greg. On Saturday evening we drove up to Oklahoma City and had a great time visiting Forever 21 (Greg, baby, you know you did) and then walking around downtown to see the sights. I fell in LOVE with the adorable little river that flows through downtown and basically all of Bricktown. It's so fun to discover parts of the country for the 1st time! I would def. rank this past weekend up there in my top 3 weekends with Gregory! It's always like we never miss a beat when we finally see each other..I love that about us.

Now, as to my first flying experience...I FREAKIN' LOVED IT! haha...I would fly to the mall if I could! It just amazes me that I could get 1/2 way across the country in such a small amount of time! I did wonderful and acted like a pro (so I thought) and didn't miss a beat with my layovers and being where I was supposed to be at the time I was supposed to be there. :) The most amazing part was getting off that plane in a itty-bitty airport in Oklahoma and FINALLY seeing the most amazing guy waiting for me! You darn right I made a scene. ;)

As far as the next 2.5 weeks are concerned...I WILL BE M.I.A.! So sorry..but this girl has a wedding to attend! {I'll be the girl in the white dress} ;) I am going to try reallyyy hard to continue posting about some things, but if I don't, please don't hold it against me. I will report back ASAP with lots of pics! I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July weekend...woohooo for Freedom and woohooo for marrying a man who is protecting it! ;)

...and it was amazing...

I'm backkkkkkk! Not by choice. haha...Greg literally had to put me inside my car. We had SUCH an amazing weekend together! He had Friday-Sunday off work so I drove down on Thursday evening! It was great to see him..spend some time together...and do normal things once again. Friday we got up earllyyy & had to take care of some errands then we enjoyed an awesome lunch at Olive Garden filled with salad & breadsticks! I swear, the way to my heart is through that big bowl of salad! Probably my favorite meal EVER! We shopped till Greg dropped (haha) that evening. On Saturday we were LAZY and it was WONDERFUL! We finally made it out for a late lunch at Steak & Shake and I got the most delicious shake everrrrr...BanannaBerry! It's 1/2 & 1/2..strawberry & bananna. I'm craving one right now! Sunday we had an excellent worship experience at CrossRoads and it made me reallyyy want to live there and go to church there! It seems like everytime I go, it just gets better & better! We enjoyed a yummy Easter lunch outside after church and then laid out in a big field of grass snacking on Jelly Beans (Greg's fav)!

And as if he isn't fabulous enough...he spoils me rotten! Forget the Easter basket filled with candy! :) Here's what I got this year...

This arrived at my house on Thursday! I go through this stuff like it's water..sooo delicious!

A new Vera bag to complete my Easter ensemble...

Along with a matching Clutch Wallet.

And this adorable umbrella! I had been wanting this for a while...

Here are some pics of us from the weekend...

This is me packing my bags to move to a hotel off post..He likes to take random pics of me..

Sightseeing on Good Friday with one of Greg's friends and his g/f

Before Church on Easter!

Being Ridiculous..as always.

We explored downtown after church

I think he is sooo yummy.

And yes, this happened! Tornado while I was visiting! I found this to be insane...trees like this all over post!

Now I have some catching up to do in the blogging world and see how everyone's Easter was! :) Look out..because I'm in "comment mode"!

I did NOT...

want to come back. :(

Oh.my.stars. I had the best weekend in the world girls! Let's just say...the feelings I have for my fiance right now are better than the feelings I had when we first started dating! :) I cannot believe that I get so giddy when I think of getting to see him..and then actually get to see him! My heart's racing right now just thinking about how amazing it was this weekend to get to live a normal life with him again. No uniform. no combat boots. And we got to go to Wal-Mart! haha..how cheesy is that?! But it still felt so awesome to go to Wal-Mart...eat dinner at Chilis ...and go to TJ Maxx. ;) It had been sooo long since we had the chance to do "normal" things together. Saturday was the 1st time I had seen him in Civilian clothes for a month and a half!! And boy, is he SKINNY!! Oh my! I almost died when I saw him in his jeans..they were about to fall off..and his T-Shirts looked like night gowns! haha. I couldn't believe the way he looked. Now, don't get me wrong..he looks VERY VERY good..hehe..but his body has changed so much since he's been gone. And he's naturally a tall and thin boy..now, he's just extra thin, {like seeing his ribs through his back and stomach thin}! He told me that he had just stopped eating his Mashed Potatoes! But I guess that's what happens when you run 20 miles a day and workout non-stop, but he was def. not like this when he got back from AIT or Basic.
Saturday we spent the day together around town and then Sunday we went to church and had some lunch together. We then hit-up Starbucks for some coffee and enjoyed some time together before I hit the road.
I don't have much time to write, I've been a bad blog friend this weekend, but I hope that you guys can forgive me. I will be back soon to read about all of your fabulous lives and leave lots and lots of comments...promise!
I will leave you with a few pics from the weekend...Have a fabulous Monday everyone! :)

This is the lodge on base where I stayed.

Beautiful Church we attend on Base, Crossroads...I described it in my post about my last visit. And check out that sky!

I adore him!

I blame this for my Fiance being skinnier than I am!

Awww..Greg & his crazy Fiance. haha.

FRIDAY FUNDAY! :)

Yes girls...IT.IS.FRIDAY!

I am so excited! I wish I wouldn't waste away my week looking forward to Friday, but I do. Possibly because this Friday I'm going to GEORGIA!! :) I will be leaving work early to hopefully make it past ATL before 5 o'clock traffic. Please pray for safe travels! :) I will take lots of pics and be sure to update you guys on my weekend with Greg.

Bridesmaids Dresses - CHECK! :)

I have officially put our info in at Davids Bridal..(I know, huge gasp). Now, I am not a huge DB fan, just not. Went and shopped for dresses there...overall experience was bad..but these Bridesmaid Dresses stuck with me through the entire shopping extravaganza. The are made from cotton (love!) and they will be in this green color as pictured. In RL, the green is much more of an "apple" green and actually match the GM ties perfectly! One of my BM, Britty, has already placed her order! :) The girls can choose between the strapless or straps, they are identical dresses...just different necklines. I originally was going to do brown dresses, but the more and more I thought about, I just wasn't happy with brown dresses. Yes, they probably would've worn a brown dress more times than this green one, but I just didn't want the pics to turn out "drab". Am I completely ridiculous for thinking this? And brown really is just an accent color in my wedding instead of black. Nothing else will really be brown except for the wording on the invites and programs! I can't have my BM matching the wording on the programs! Come on people. I'm much too festive for that!

Now, as mentioned, my sister-in-law is preggers..with twins!! And yes, she is my Matron of Honor! I was a little freaked out by the situation because she will be almost 6 months preggers at my wedding..however, we think we've found a dress to suit her. It's long and made of jersey fabric which is very flowy and allows for more room to grow rather than the 2 cotton dresses above. We aren't gonna order her's until May so hopefully we will be able to see how fast she is growing by then. Give this girl some flip flops and she'll be happy :)

BM Bouquets will look similar to this pic...only with hot pink open princess roses instead of these light ones and studded with orchids! :) I think they are going to look just fabulous!

And since I'm on the topic of my girls today...please look how ridiculously adorable these girls are? Hello, I LOVE big sunglasses! I get made fun of for them. My girls are goofballs. Yes, I do believe I will recreate this pic at my wedding! Ta-Da! :)

I believe that is all for now! I need to get to work and accomplish some things before I hit the road! I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend & stay safe! :) xoxo

weekend adventures.

Happy Monday All! Well, as stated in my previous post..I went to see my fiance this weekend! We had SUCH a terrific time...I think I will share.

As mentioned, I woke up at 3am on Saturday morning to hit the road by 4:30. Greg was dismissed at 9, so I wanted to be there right when he did! :) We only had from 9-3:30 each day to spend time together and we couldn't leave the base..but it was WELL worth the trip.

When I got there I was "lucky" enough to attend the Saturday morning ritual of going to the laundry mat. haha...it was a packed house of course. So we loaded up the washers and walked to the coffee shop next door. After some coffee and catching up, I helped Greg fold his clean clothes (and mind you, I was the ONLY blonde, cutely-dressed girl in the laundry mat) haha..I got lots of looks from people going "what is she doing here??" LOL. Anyways, after we got the laundry cleaned we decided to go to the PX and do a little shopping. I of course, had to hit up the Coach & Vera Bradley bag section ;) Greg even bought me the little Coach wristlet I had been wanting to use for my hipster Coach bag since my wallet won't fit. He was cute and giddy. And he's not allowed to push the cart when he is in uniform I was told.. he said "it's an Army Wife thing"..hahahahaa..so none-the-less, I pushed the cart ;) {total joke..but I did push the cart}

After shopping we grabbed some lunch at the PX food court and talked foreverrrr..then we decided to do some site seeing. That's where I got these cute pics of us:

Greg said jump..so I jumped ;) he loves this crazy pic.

ahhhh..i miss holding hands..

After taking some pics I had to tell him bye..he had formation at 3:45. I went and checked into my hotel..then got ready for some shopping. I, of course, hit up hobby lobby, Marshalls (where I found 2 super cute dresses), and Ross (where I found an amazing Guess Handbag & yellow raincoat). By then it was almost 8pm so I decided to end my adventure. I stopped by Krystal (my LOVEEEE) on the way home..Greg said he would be able to come outside and see me real quick, so I swung back by the base to get a goodnight kiss ;)
The next morning I was up super early to shower and get ready...then high-tailed it back to base. I was there right when he got dismissed at 9 and we ventured to Starbucks in the pouring rain. After coffee, we attended church there on base. It is called Crossroads at the Follow Me chapel and let me tell you...IT WAS AWESOME!! I am sooo encouraged after visiting the church. It is a contemporary worship service which is right up my alley! Very, very similar to the church Greg and I were attending here in NC, Biltmore Baptist. It was such an amazing experience to be around so many people who live the lifestyle I will be living soon..and who share smiliar interests..GOD!! :) The people were so friendly and it was great to see other soldiers there (in and out of uniform) with their families or friends..praising God. The entire worship experience was fabulous. I hope and pray that there is a chapel on the base we get stationed that is similiar to this one. I just cannot adequately explain how perfect it was..the music, the people, the sermon..every detail.
After church, we went back to the PX (seeing a trend here??) to grab some lunch. We sat in the food court area for hours just to be with each other. It was pouring the rain, so we couldn't exactly be outside. Then, the dreaded time came...and I had to say bye. It was tough...I think everytime I have to say 'goodbye' to that boy is gonna be tough. It just feels so natural to be with him...and when I'm not with him, I feel out of my element. Kinda crazy..but it does. Here's a pic of us he took...I'm driving him back to his barracks and please excuse the tears and runny makeup...

Overall, it was one of the best trips of my life. Just to see the boy for 10 seconds would be worth it! I cannot wait to go visit again...(fingers crossed for March 28th! Then Easter!) Hope everyone else had a GREAT weekend!
